Summer Series 2015 First Concerts

Itasca Community Chorus, our parent organization is back and has delivered their fabulous New York New York program at Greenway Auditorium, April 26th.  If you missed it, look at the ICTV schedule and catch a glimpse.  While television viewing can not do performance justice, it will give you a taste of what you don't want to miss in the future.
Itasca Community Chorus, under the direction of Sam Evans and accompanist Stuart Boehr, has grown artistically by leaps and bounds.  Text and intonation alike have received rave reviews from local directors John Scheuer and Doug Kouchat.
But enough about our parent.  The Summer Series is ready to go and we're turning your attention to the 1000+ marigold bookmarks we publish each year.  Please do get one, post it on your door or fridge and join us weekly.  This is a season you don't want to miss.  Here are our first two concerts:

June 2 Zion Lutheran Church
Music We Love Deer River High School Vocal Ensemble directed by Lenora Evans
June 9 First Lutheran Church
Sacred &  Secular: Favorites from Church & Stage Lisa Johnson, Kathy Lysne; Stuart Boehr

New York New York

Several of us will be taking a break from this site while we travel to New York City to sing with the national choir O Grant Us Peace.  Sunday, April 12 we'll be on stage at Carnegie Hall (along with 200+other singers from throughout the nation) to perform the cantata Dona Nobis Pacem under the direction of Trey Jacobs.

When we return, we'll perform as Itasca Community Choir at 4:00 pm April 12, 2015 at the historic Greenway Auditorium  in Coleraine, MN.  Following the cantata, we'll sing several Broadway numbers including selections from Mama Mia, Wicked, New York New York  and Hairspray.

Look for us on the Itasca Community Chorus blogspot for photos and other snippets of what we experience in Chicago and New York City.

Check back here later in April for more news on the Summer 2015 Concert Series slated to begin June 3 at Zion Lutheran Church here in Grand Rapids.

Stay well.
